Abstract
    A specimen of the Japanese threadfin bream Nemipterus japonicus was recorded for the first time from the Mediterranean Sea. The presence of this Indo-Pacific fish in the Mediterranean is evidently due to migration from the Red Sea via the Suez Canal.
