The taxonomic situation of Leptocythere pellucida (Baird) the type-species of Leptocythere is reviewed and discussed. Three species can correspond to it. A short description of each of them is given. They are: Leptocythere pellucida (Baird, 1850 sensu Sars 1866) = confusa Brady & Norman, 1889, Leptocythere castanea (Sars, 1866) and Leptocythere psammophila sp. n. |
