Abstract
The most important ecological features of aLittorina nigrolineata (Gray) population are described (repartition according to exposure, vertical distribution, displacement). Growth is studied by different ways. When released, the young have the same size as Littorina saxatilis rudis. Growth's variability after sexual maturity is important. This phenomenon is connected with the vertical repartition which differs before and after maturity. Growth and life-span of two species in different exposure conditions are compared. The exposure differences are shown to be rather more important than a specific difference. Growth's characteristics, in semi-sheltered shore are: maturity height 130.10 super(-1)mm, ultimate height 190.10 super(-1)mm and yearly mortality rate 0.721, after maturity.
