| Abstract |
Wide mudflats, with fine granulometry, extend in the Eastern part of the Golfe du Morbihan (southern Brittany coast, France). Bionomically speaking, their basic composition is a community with Abra ovata, Loripes lucinalis, Nephthys hombergii, Melinna palmata and Leptosynapta inhaerens. Locally, the structure of this association is modified by variations of the parameters and is then chracterized by the proliferation of some peculiar species. The repartition of infralittoral species extends higher in the eulittoral zone, essentially in relation with high water content of the substratum. Specific wealth of these mudflats, higher than the subtidal mudflats, is associated with high mean density and high mean biomass; specific diversity, then, varies between 3 and 4 Bits (Shannon's index). |
