Abstract
The Pacific bryozoan Pacificincola perforata naturally occurs in the South and East China Seas. The species was likely introduced to Europe through the import of Japanese oysters. In 2016, the bryozoan was observed for the first time in the Sluice Dock of Ostend. To date, the Sluice Dock remains the only location in Belgium where the species has been found. The species can attach itself to various types of substrate and is a known fouling organism in its native region.
