Abstract | The Orange-striped anemone Diadumene lineata is an anemone, a type of anthozoan, native to the Asian Pacific Ocean and Japan. The anemone got introduced at the end of the 19th century to Europe by attachment to ship hulls or due to the aquaculture of oysters. In 1998, the Orange-striped anemone was observed for the first time along our coast in the Sluice Dock of Ostend. The species is highly resistant to changing environmental conditions and can reproduce rapidly. |
