Description This database contains data on population characteristics of the hyper- and epibenthos, sampled in the Scheldt estuary, Belgian coastal waters and Belgian coastal harbours. more Within the framework of the INRAM project, population characteristics of epibenthos and hyperbenthos were investigated. The epibenthic community was sampled by means of a beam trawl. Vertebrates were sampled quantitalively, whereas invertebrates were sampled qualitatively (except for shrimps, which were also sampled quantitalively). The endobenthic community was sampled both quantitatively and qualitatively by means of a Van Veen grab. Scope Themes: Biology, Biology > Benthos, Bottom samples (e.g. core, dredge, grab), Coastal studies (e.g. shores, estuaries) Keywords: Marine/Coastal, Brackish water, Benthos, Epibenthos, Hyperbenthos, Population characteristics, ANE, Belgium, Belgian Coast, ANE, Belgium, Brugge, Zeebrugge, ANE, Belgium, Brugge, Zeebrugge Harbour, ANE, Belgium, Nieuwpoort, ANE, Belgium, Nieuwpoort Harbour, ANE, Belgium, Oostende, ANE, Belgium, Oostende Harbour, ANE, Belgium, Oostende Harbour, Sluice Dock, ANE, Netherlands, Westerschelde, Vlissingen, Belgium, Zeeschelde, Antwerp, EurOBIS calculated BBOX Geographical coverage ANE, Belgium, Belgian Coast [Marine Regions] ANE, Belgium, Brugge, Zeebrugge Stations [Marine Regions] W01 (at sea, just outside the harbour) W04 (at sea) Coordinates: Long: 3,2372; Lat: 51,4492 [WGS84] ANE, Belgium, Brugge, Zeebrugge Harbour Stations [Marine Regions] ZB1 (near the marina) ZB2 (near Vandamme sluice) ZB3 (near tern island) ZB4 (near Fluxys) ANE, Belgium, Nieuwpoort Stations [Marine Regions] W03 (at sea, just outside the harbour) Coordinates: Long: 2,712; Lat: 51,1686 [WGS84] W06 (at sea) Coordinates: Long: 2,4673; Lat: 51,2883 [WGS84] ANE, Belgium, Nieuwpoort Harbour Stations [Marine Regions] NP1 (near fish market) NP2 (near marina) NP3 (near fence) ANE, Belgium, Oostende Stations [Marine Regions] W02 (at sea, just outside the harbour) Coordinates: Long: 2,8568; Lat: 51,2241 [WGS84] W05 (at sea) Coordinates: Long: 2,8067; Lat: 51,4159 [WGS84] ANE, Belgium, Oostende Harbour Stations [Marine Regions] OO2 (near bridge) OO3 (near VLIZ) OO4 (near fence) ANE, Netherlands, Westerschelde, Vlissingen Stations [Marine Regions] S01 Coordinates: Long: 3,5698; Lat: 51,4165 [WGS84] Belgium, Zeeschelde, Antwerp Stations [Marine Regions] S22 Coordinates: Long: 4,3917; Lat: 51,2188 [WGS84] EurOBIS calculated BBOX Stations Bounding Box Coordinates: MinLong: 2,4289; MinLat: 51,1342 - MaxLong: 4,3917; MaxLat: 51,4492 [WGS84] Temporal coverage 2007 - 2008 2009 - 2001 Parameters Biota density Fish length Species diversity Contributors Related datasets Project INRAM: Integrated Risk Assessment and Monitoring of micropollutants in the Belgian coastal zone, more Dataset status: In Progress Data type: Data Data origin: Research: field survey Metadatarecord created: 2007-08-07 Information last updated: 2015-12-04 |
