AS-MADE: Assessment of Marine Debris on the Belgian Continental Shelf: occurrence and effects [Evaluatie van Marien Afval in de zone van het Belgisch Continentaal Plat: voorkomen en effecten] Citation Contact: Availability: Restricted The data are withheld from general circulation and disclosure but access may be obtained on a case-by-case basis through negotiation Description The data were collected by volunteers during the so-called 'Lenteprikkel' at the Belgian coast, where people collect debris every spring, and the 'fishing for litter'-action where fishing vessels collect waste during their fishing-activities, and take them to shore; and by scientists who did monitoring campaigns at sea to collect or observe the waste in sea and at the coastline. There will also be new monitoring campaigns done by the University of Ghent. Scope Themes: Bottom samples (e.g. core, dredge, grab), Coastal studies (e.g. shores, estuaries), Environmental quality/pollution > Pollution levels & monitoring Keywords: Marine/Coastal, Assessment, Indicators, ANE, Belgium, Belgian Coast, ANE, Belgium, Belgian Continental Shelf (BCS) Geographical coverage ANE, Belgium, Belgian Coast [Marine Regions] ANE, Belgium, Belgian Continental Shelf (BCS) [Marine Regions] Contributors Vlaamse overheid; Beleidsdomein Omgeving; Instituut voor Natuur- en Bosonderzoek (INBO), more, partner, data creator Universiteit Gent; Faculteit Bio-ingenieurswetenschappen; Vakgroep Dierwetenschappen en Aquatische Ecologie; Laboratorium voor Milieutoxicologie (GhEnToxLab), more, partner, data creator Vlaams Instituut voor de Zee (VLIZ), more, data manager Related datasets Project AS-MADE: Assessment of Marine Debris on the Belgian Continental Shelf: occurence and effects. - AS-MADE, more Publication Based on this dataset Claessens, M. et al.
