Abstract: | The research group "Islameta" is based at the Department of Biology of the University of Pisa, Italy. We are mainly interested in sea turtles long-distance movements which are studied by satellite telemetry. Special attention is given to the navigational and orientation systems the animals rely on to reach specific targets, such as magnetic sensitivity. We study loggerhead turtles in the Mediterranean Sea, leatherback and green turtles in the Indian and Atlantic Ocean. |
