Abstract: | MARine Biodiversity, Exploitation & Conservation is a joint research unit that brings together staff from four main institutions, IRD, Ifremer, the University of Montpellier and CNRS, and a secondary institution, INRAE. Its objective is to study the marine biodiversity of lagoon, coastal and offshore ecosystems at different levels of integration, from molecular, individual, population and community aspects, and the uses of this biodiversity by humans. The three main sites of the UMR MARBEC are located in Occitania (Sète, Montpellier, Palavas-les-Flots), but the UMR is also present in more than ten foreign countries in Africa, the Indian Ocean, South America and Southeast Asia. |
