Abstract
The objective of the project is to create and develop research-based methods for performing independent assessments of resources. Direct research methods will be developed and their results will be implemented into the models and the final procedure will be evaluated. The direct estimation of resources, mortality, and spatial distribution will be improved through the application of spatial statistical methods. Effectiveness in research catches will be tested with a combination of methods. Population estimation models will be developed with the aim of applying research results as the exclusive source of data. Eleven EU research institutions are participating in the project.
