Abstract | "The project aims on producing synergies and collating experiences, technologies and capacities of the science, government and industry sectors involed in marine monitoring and operational oceanography. Contrary to large and thematically wider scoped networks we focus on these specific technology sectors. We will provide the application and end-user communities with clear views on available and near future technologies specifically in terms of improving their operational applications with, simultaneously, saving costs and efforts. Vice-versa we will provide the technology developers and producers and the service providing sectors (especially SMEs) with a sound analysis on development needs, sales and business opportunities in these fields. We will simultaneously achieve a wide outreach by utilising existing and emerging networks, associations and our vast contacts to the marine managerial, science and industry sectors. By these exploitation and dissemination activities we will substantially stipulate future cooperation and projects. The InterMareC ASTIR project (c/17/K) will develop a comprehensive inventory on marine environmental monitoring and related activities relevant for integrated management of the coastal zones adjacent to the three regions (K.E.R.N., Brest and Pomerania). The study will comprehensively document methodologies, equipment, systems, procedures and administrative implementation of these topics and will also point out future necessities, demands and requirements in terms of technologies, policies and administrative issues in and around the three regions." |
