Abstract
In the context of a strategic sustainable development for the Greek coast, all sectorial policies should include a systematic approach of coastal zone and be planned according to the principles of Integrated Coastal Zone Management.
The seashore and the beach have been especially concerned by the wider aspect of the greek legislation about public properties. Through Greek legislation coastal zone is being managed as public property and not as part of a Coastal Area in an environmental, spatial and developmental framework. Considering the above, the establishment of strategic plan is being promoted for the development and protection of the Greek coast providing a synthetic framework for the harmonization of actions promoted by spatial and sectorial institutional regulations.
