Abstract | The aims of the current project are (1) to contribute to a better understanding of the nature and evoluationary context of (cryptic) variation patterns in reproductive, molecular-phylogenetic, morphological, toxigenic and ecophysiological characteristics in representative of the genus Pseudo-nitzschia, and (2) gain a better insight into the factors that induce blooms and toxicity in these organisms. The project will be focused on the Pseudo-nitzschia pungens/multiseries/fraudulenta complex. |
