Data Issues

  • Other : Following the European Directives on Environmental Data and the Regional Law for the creation of the Andalusian Environmental Information Network, all kind of public data is available to all the citizens without any restriction, only data with private or personal remarks has restriction use. Even if the Coastal subsystem is not fully working and accessible, all the background information is already accessible by all users through the REDIAM Channel, free registration is needed: www.juntadeandalucia.es/medioambiente/rediam

Other challenges

  • Inter sectoral policy
  • Inter administration agreements
  • REDIAM's Coastal Subsystem offers a unique opportunity to provide online access to different coastal data from all kind of sources and nature, providing tools and services for its own interoperability. The technology used for the development of this allows the different systems to operate in a compatible way, despite each of the subsystems having a different architecture, complying with the first condition for interoperability.
The trend is to develop a service architecture that interacts by connecting the repositories of information, which store and maintain the digital information, usually databases and geographic information layers from various institutions.
