Abstract
The aim of the analysis of mercury species in fish of the North Sea, the Scheldt estuary and river is to determine the quality as well as the expected quality where inputs remain unchanged or when they decrease. The mechanism responsible for the bioaccumulation of mercury in these systems shall be investigated.
