Abstract
After the discovery of large concentrations of heavy minerals on the beach of the Wadden Island Ameland, a detector system has been developed that can measure offshore heavy mineral concentrations quickly and in situ. Selectivity in sediment transport and effects of density and grain size on sediment-transport rates are studied in three experimental facilities.
