Abstract | After a short overview of the ranking of the harpacticoids within the animal kingdom, the evolution of the copepods is discussed. Since external anatomy and sexual dimorphism are important traits for the taxonomic study of harpacticoids, these traits are also discussed. The experimental work revealed four new species. In total, 16 species were (re-)described and drawn. Infrequent observations of other species (five taxa were identified at genus level and four at species level) are mentioned in the appendix. |
