Abstract
Previous research on ship-ship interaction has generally been dealing with only two ships. This paper examines the interaction forces and moments on three ships, using a numerical scheme based on discrete vortex distribution method. The aim of the present research is to obtain a database of interactive forces and moments, by varying parameters such as separation distance, water depth, size and speed. This can be used by simulation program developers to inform vessel operators of hazards while navigating in crowded waterways. Numerical results are presented for three ship interactions in simultaneous passing conditions.
