Abstract
A survey of the deep-water malacofauna of New Caledonia has brought to light two species referable to the subfamily Columbariinae (Gastropoda: Turbinellidae). Coluzea faceta sp. nov. is described from off the Isle of Pines at depths of 385-500 m. Additional specimens of Coluzea pinicola Darragh, 1987, previously described from off the Isle of Pines, serve as the basis for the description of the new genus Fustifusus. Serratifusus virginiae sp. nov. and Serratifusus lineatus sp. nov., two Recent species of the columbariform genus Serratifusus Darragh, 1969, previously known only from deep-water fossil deposits of Miocene age, are also described. On the basis of anatomical and radular data, Serratifusus is transferred from the Columbariinae to the family Buccinidae.
