Abstract | The recent foraminifera in the ice-covered seas of the Canadian Arctic were found to be distributed in two bathymetric zones with their common boundary at about the 200-metre isobaths. The information was used to support a theory of a regional lowering of sea level during the Holocene. The rate of sedimentation during the past 8000 years is indicated to be 4.4 cm per 1000 years. |
