Abstract | The Chad basin is submitted to a persistent drought. Some think that one means of countering this problem would be to catch the Congo-Zaire basin waters, which are often in excess. The characteristics of the relevant rivers, Congo, Oubangui and Chari, are presented and a 1200 km long route is proposed from the catchment area on the Congo River as far as Lake Chad. Some consequences are discussed. |
