Abstract | An attempt is made in this paper to explain the distribution of zooplankton in the Arabian Sea. The most important influence on the hydrographical conditions of the area is the exchange of water between the Persian Gulf and the Arabian Sea. Zooplankton was observed to be transported in this exchange. At the same time high productivity due to the influence of Persian Gulf water and upwelling in the Arabian Sea would explain the development of zooplankton in this region. |
