Abstract
Studies over the past years have shown that there are sufficient levels of estrogens in natural waters to affect male and juvenile fish. The work presented here suggests that vitellogenin induction in juvenile Atlantic cod (Gadus morhua L.) is a good marker to monitor estrogens in coastal waters in Northern Europe.
