Abstract
The production of the gastropods Rissoa parva, Barleeia unifasciata and Bittium reticulatum was calculated in six populations inhabiting at the Basque Coast (N Spain). Halopteris scoparia, an algae upon these species live, has a production of 361 gr (ash free dry weight)/m super(2)/yr super(1), being the turnover from 2.39 to 2.57. The secondary production (gr ash free dry weight/m super(2)/yr super(1)) is: 12.8 to 18.3 for R. parva), 9.3 to 13.3 for B. unifasciata and 3.4 to 7.6 for B. reticulatum. The turnover ratio is between 2.06 and 3.51. The mean monthly turnover decreases from the first cohorts to the latest ones fixed.
