Abstract
The following cases are dealt with:1. confined groundwater;2. phreatic groundwater with natural recharge;3. semi-confined groundwater with invariable groundwater table above the semi-pervious top layer. Each of these cases is dealt with in:1. two-dimensional situation;2 radial symmetric situation. The following conditions hold for all cases:a. homogeneous and isotropic aquifer;b. sharp interface;c. the vertical velocity component in the aquifer is neglected; the saline groundwater is under static conditions.
