Abstract
The hydrology and fresh-salt water relations of the White Chalk aquifer at Ålborg is described. The results of Various pumping test analyses in the area are presented and used to estimate the upper limit of the draw down in a planned White Chalk quarry. The character of the increase in chloride concentration together with an investigation of an existing White Chalk quarry in the area lead to the conclusion that deep mining below the groundwater table will cause no upconing of the fresh-salt interface.
