Abstract
Belgium is a member of the MARPOL Convention since 1984, but it's only in 1995 that they adopted a law in order to enforce this international instrument in its national legislation. The article describes with care the preparation of this law, analyses its text and shows up its imperfections especially concerning the future Belgian EEZ.
