Abstract: | The Environmental Pollution Control Laboratory was founded in 1976 and belongs to the section of Physical, Analytical and Environmental Chemistry of the Department of Chemistry of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. It is located at the 4th floor of the old-chemistry building. Since its foundation, the Laboratory has developed significant activities in national and international level. Members of the Lab participate to a lot of committees and councils for the protection of the environment in northern Greece region. It collaborates with the major institutions and research centres of Greece and other countries. The Laboratory employees all the necessary infrastructure for education and research, being equipped with modern, high technology instrumentation. It has its own station for monitoring the atmospheric pollution, which is located in the centre of the city of Thessaloniki. |
