Abstract
This project will use novel gnotobiotic model systems for an in-depth study of the mechanisms responsible for the interactions between host organisms and micro-organisms. These models will be used to generate information about their innate immune defense systems Using these tools, the importance of the recently discovered phenomenon of priming will be studied for the first time in aquatic larvae.
