Abstract

    In situ observations of micro- and macroplastics were done simultaneously on a selection of the most relevant sampling locations within the study area (i.e. representative for the plastic distribution and accumulation sites).

    As per the redirection of effort and resources in WP5 towards research and development required to establish machine learning algorithms for detecting litter items in the river and on riverbanks, the integrated sampling campaign for micro- and macroplastics based on in situ observations and remote sensing did not go forward.
